Make sure a code of conduct is a living document

A growing number of organizations create a code of conduct, appoint a confidential advisor, or facilitate a training for employees. But that is not enough to ensure that people also comply with that code of conduct, writes Athena's Angel Naomi Ellemers in an opinion piece in the FD. A code of conduct will not end inappropriate behavior."A code of conduct is meaningful if managers and supervisors actively identify difficult situations, clearly communicate them, and behave in accordance with the code of conduct."
