Inequality in the recruitment and selection of young scientists

When a selection committee has to estimate the potential of young scientists, implicit preferences and assumptions influence the decision-making process to the detriment of female candidates. This is evident from the research by Herschberg into recruitment and selection procedures for postdocs and university teachers.
