Prof. dr. Beatrice de Graaf and prof. dr. Marion Koopmans are the first Stevin Laureates. They each receive an amount of 2.5 million euros that is intended for research and/or activities related to the use of knowledge. The Stevin Prize is a prize for researchers or a team of two to three people in the Netherlands who have achieved particular success in the field of knowledge use for society. The initiative for the Stevin Prize is based on the letter 'Science with impact' from the State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science to the Lower House of Parliament (dated 19 January 2017).
