In science, victory is mostly about grants. Scientists get caught up in a rat race due to "low success rates, the impossibility of conducting research without grants, and the significance of grants for careers." The perception of victory and competition impedes trust and inclusiveness. The effectiveness of science benefits from diversity and inclusiveness in which the "tough superman, hero of the grant fight" is not the only role model.
