Impact of COVID-19 on research productivity of female academics

Increasing concern is being expressed about potential negative consequences of COVID-19 for women in academia combining work with family responsibilities (see for example here or here). Although some have signalled decreased research productivity of female scholars, reflected, for instance, by a decrease in preprints and new research projects, as well as a drop in early journal, article and working paper submissions, we don’t yet know how serious or widespread these effects are.

We think it is important to collect and combine such evidence as it accumulates. In case you know of additional indicators, relevant data, or recent research findings, please share these with us via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
